Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups almond flour blanched
  • 1/2 cup butter browned
  • 3/4 cup monk fruit sweetener brown blend preferred
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup pecans chopped and toasted
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 pan with parchment paper.
  • Brown the butter in a saucepan until nutty and golden. Cool slightly.
  • Whisk brown butter with sweetener, then add egg and vanilla.
  • Stir in almond flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold in toasted pecans.
  • Spread batter into the pan and bake for 22-25 minutes.
  • Cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

The cooling step is essential; slicing while warm will cause them to crumble. Use a brown sweetener for the most authentic taste.
